In 2015, eight new, air conditioned, low-floor Twist trams version 2010NW, made by the Bydgoszcz PESA, entered the tracks of Wrocław. Trams were equipped with many advanced technological accessories. Therefore, PESA was second to none when it won the tender announced by the City Transport Enterprise in Wrocław.
PESA established cooperation with Zakład Elektroniczny SIMS; the contract covered accessories to all trams in dynamic passenger information system, mobile monitoring system, and automated fare collection system. Passengers of Wrocław public transport can enjoy a comfortable travel. Thanks to LCD panels installed in trams, passengers are informed about the name of route, name of stop and time of travel at a given stretch. Monitoring includes 11 cameras in every vehicle; footage is recorded by NVR type devices, which assure their continuity, perfect quality and availability online. The expanded system of devices and software is used to maintain safety of passengers. The designed and implemented innovative technologies make possible control of vehicle operation en route with the use of online diagnostics. With the use of this solution, the depots have a preview and a possibility to check if tram operation is correct. The devices are shake- and vibration resistant, they are reliable and high quality, meeting requirements of European standards and regulations. The devices were made based on the IRIS quality system. Zakład Elektroniczny SIMS continues to work on similar undertakings.
